What to do with a Broken Heart

Brokenness can be a beautiful gift to God, because a broken heart needs a healer. Jesus says, “I am the healer of all broken heartedness.” There is no manufacturer that has patented the cure for heartache. Society has tried. Man has failed. The beauty of broken heartedness is in the miracle cure of the Savior who died for our sins who purchased salvation by whose stripes we are healed.

Broken heartedness necessitates divine healing. It makes us eligible for a miracle! It draws us close into the intimacy of the Savior’s bosom for the comfort and solace that results in healing. From the throne room God clothes us with Himself, then sends us out released and free. When we need His touch, He meets us at the point of weakness, we are then made whole, the benefactors of weakness becoming strength. Our strength is made perfect in weakness because we have availed ourselves to the Almighty’s miracle power.

It is impossible to look into the face of Jesus and ever be the same. Heartache has a way of speedily driving us to the throne. When the pain is great, we run to our healer. We receive in proportion to our need. Thus, we understand one glimpse of humanity. Broken heartedness sidesteps excuses and procrastination. Its pain cries out in urgency. The Healer mercifully responds with divine health. Being the recipient of a miracle bonds us closer to our Heavenly Father, and we receive the ultimate of gifts…..intimacy with God.
